US Household Debt in Graphs!

NPR did an interesting short article on the current US debt. They added nice graphs as well:

Not that surprising, your biggest assest is generally your home

Intersting: from 2005-2010 we were taking in more debt than income. Well before the collapse.


Interesting: Debt reduction started in 2009 - right after the collapse

For the last graph, they explain that the interst rate for this debt went down and as a result the amout people were putting toward the debt was decreasing. But this should still have increased during the years of the recession. Where are all the people who had to take on more debt in order to live?
